Big Bear Hike

The day after Halloween we went on a short hike. It was Caleb's first hike where he walked on his own the whole time. He did pretty good! We walked just over a mile - just past the big lodgepole pine and back -

Papa started out with Micah. He was happy -
Caleb and Micah in front of the big tree -
A walk through the "wheat field" as Caleb called it -
Caleb was excited about having a stick like Uncle Issac's. Soon after this it broke and he had a mini melt down!
King Caleb sitting in the stump throne -
Isaac took Micah on the way back -
And Grandpa took Caleb. It was so awesome. They chatted and held hands like that most of the way back. I don't know if Caleb could have made it without him!
So, soon after we left, Micah got kinda fussy. Grandpa fixed it by giving him a stick. He loved it and held onto to the entire rest of our hike. We tried to take a family pic and it kinda got in the way!
Apparently, it tasted good too -
Still has it -
And when I tried to take it away when we got back in the car, there were many screams. So - he got it back!
Such a great morning with family!

Halloween

We were with my family in Big Bear for Halloween. We went to the Village where the stores hand out candy and then to a church carnival.

Here's my little sweet pea -

Caleb was a robot and got so much attention. Everyone loved his costume!

The church carnival was a bit churchy - every game was bible themed, like throw the halo on the angel -
Or, Caleb's favorite, be a fisher of men -
But it was a neat event and Caleb would much rather play games for his candy than just go trick-or-treating.

He was pretty worn out by the end of it all and didn't want to take any more pictures. He had the perfect hiding spot -
Here's a quick and really cute video of Caleb being a robot -

Another Wedding

The next stop on our trip was a family wedding. Before the wedding we all went to my cousin Dawn's house for dinner and for the boys to meet some extended family. Caleb had fun doing tricks with their cute little dog again.

While Caleb was doing that, we discovered that Micah thought it hilarious when the dog barked. Check out this cute video -

Micah got passed around and met some new family -
The boys stayed with Pye and I went to the wedding. It was fun to hang with the fam -
My cousin (well, second cousin, I guess), Sheila, and her new hubbie, Bob -
So fun to see both of my wonderful brothers at the same time!
Yay for fun times with family I don't get to see very often!

Fun with Patience

The week around Halloween the boys and I went down south for a wedding and to visit family. We started out our trip with a couple nights at my best friend, Patience's house. We didn't do too much and it was awesome! We just hung out, talked, played with the boys, and had such a refreshing time!

Caleb's favorite thing was to "play" Mario Kart on her Wii. All day he was asking if we could play cars over and over and over - even though he wasn't even really playing! So fun!
One afternoon we had fun with bubbles. Micah had fun playing with the wands -
And he had even more fun spilling the bubble mix -
But he had the most fun playing in it -
Pye gave Caleb these amazing bubble guns to play with. He LOVED them!

Another afternoon we played at a nearby park.

It was such an awesome time and I am so thankful for such a wonderful friend!

Just a quick pic

of Caleb and the pumpkin he "carved."

It's so much fun to celebrate holidays now that he can understand more and participate!

Wilder Ranch Harvest Festival

One of our fall activities included going to Wilder Ranch for their annual harvest festival. Our good friend, Christal, came with us. We've been to Wilder Ranch for other events, but this was our first time here for their harvest fest. It was similar to their other ones and lots of fun!

After eating lunch and listening to the "band" we decorated cookies -

They were yummy! The boys loved em -

Then we did some pumpkin painting. I took the opportunity in the pumpkin field to snap some shots of Micah. I got some much better pictures than the ones from the pumpkin patch!

Picking the perfect pumpkin -

We had fun painting!

And of course, we had to get some of the hand-cranked pumpkin ice cream! (I think Micah wants some)
It was a beautiful day!
